Make up your own spicy chicken recipe using your favourite spices. it's so quick and easy
Use whatever chicken pieces you like, drumsticks, as pictured, wings or thighs, with or without the bone. You could also use breast pieces, but they may turn out a little dry. Breasts with the skin on might be OK but not everyone is agreeable to eating chicken skin for various reasons, including calorie counting as there is a lot of fat in chickn skin. But it is this fat that will help to prevent the meat from drying out
You will need some flour for this - preferably not gluten free if that is possible with you, so that the flour will stick better to the meat. Dipping in egg first, might be an option if you need to avoid gluten
Mix into the flour a good quantity of your favourite spices.
I used 2 tsp smoked paprika, 2 tsp mixed spice, 2 tsp dried herbs and 1/2 tsp garlic powder mixed into 2 tablespoons of wholemeal wheat flour.
Of course you can add more spice than this if you wish, and/or different or hotter spices according to your own taste.
Then simply lay them on a baking sheet and cook at around 200 c / gas 6 until the meat is well cooked to the bone.
Remember that meat without the bone will cook quicker
We had ours with air fried chips (french fries), some peas and a good dollop of ketchup or brown sauce would go well too
